Man arrested after traffic stop

A Baileytown man was arrested and a stolen car recovered following a routine traffic stop.
On Sept. 27, Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to stop a 2007 Chevy Malibu for driving without headlights. After stopping, the driver attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. He was later identified as Douglas Eugene Veal, 47, of Baileyton. The vehicle was later identified as having been stolen from Cullman County.
Veal was arrested for driving under the influence, illegal possession of prohibited liquor, attempting to elude and receiving stolen property in the first degree.
