Ryan School readies for fall festival
Ryan News
Happy birthday wishes to Katelyn McCann and Israel Guzman.
Calhoun Community College nursing students and their instructor provided KidCheck exams for students in grades one, two, three, four, five and six as part of a statewide program that began in south Alabama and now available in north Alabama.
Students were screened for height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, near and far vision, hearing and heart and lung sounds. Parents who allowed their children to participate in the free event will receive a summary of their child’s exam.
The goal of the program is to find conditions that may be adversely affecting a student’s overall health and performance in school and assist parents in locating and accessing services.

A Can-A-Thon is being sponsored by Mrs. Ransom and the Ryan Junior High School Beta Club.
Can-A-Thon is a canned food drive that provides food to local agencies in Morgan County to help people in our community. WAFF-48 will collect the cans at the Decatur Mall in December, so bring some canned food items to your homeroom teacher before Dec. 1.
The homeroom with the most cans donated will win a treat!
As you begin planning your holiday menus and goodies, please be sure to save and send your Campbell’s soup labels and box tops for education. They really add up and help the school.
