West Limestone handles Priceville
PRICEVILLE – The search for that elusive victory at Priceville continues after West Morgan scored a 60-7 win over the Bulldogs Friday night in a Class 4A, Region 8 game.
Priceville’s lone score in the game came when Chance Ellsworth threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Nick Bell with 1:29 remaining in the third quarter.
West Limestone took advantage of several turnovers by the Bulldogs to quickly take control of the game.
Jake Blankenship scored twice for West Limestone. Zack Ferris ran for one score and caught a touchdown pass for the Wildcats, who improved to 7-2 overall and 5-2 in region play.
The Wildcats also got a touchdown from Nate Burks, who returned a Priceville fumble and returned it eight yards for the score.
Priceville dropped to 0-9 overall and 0-7 in the region.
The Bulldogs will close out the season on the road against Brewer Friday night.
West End 53, Falkville 6
FALKVILLE – West End limited Falkville to just 83 yards of total offense in a 53-6 victory Friday night.
Falkville dropped to 1-8 overall and 1-7 in Class 2A, Region 7 play.
Caleb Mayo scored three times to lead West End as the Patriots wrapped up a playoff spot with the win.
The loss was the third straight for Falkville. The Blue Devils will close out the season Friday against Danville.
West Point 43, Brewer 14
FLORETTE – Taylor Bowling ran for a pair of touchdowns in Brewer’s 43-14 loss to West Point Friday night.
Bowling scored on runs of 14 and 18 yards in the Patriots’ Class 5A, Region 6 loss.
West Point’s Logan Bates threw for 237 yards and five touchdowns in the win.
