Funeral for David Allen Summerford, 64, of Hartselle will be Thur. (today), Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Partridge and Mike Eaton officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Summerford died Mon., Nov. 15, 2010, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1946, in Morgan County to David Elijia Summerford and Sara Elizabeth White Summer-ford. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He loved to hunt, fish, ride his Harley and was a huge fan of Auburn football. He loved his two dogs, Harley and Junior. They brought him so much comfort during his illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, L.C. Summerford, Grady Sum-merford, Coy Summerford, Marlin Summerford and Robert Summerford; and a sister, Mildred Ledlow.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Vest Summerford; a son, David Shane Summer-ford of Danville; two daughters, Tammy Woodall and husband David of Eva and Tanya Summerford of Hartselle; a brother, Roy Summerford and wife Brittney of Hartselle; three sisters, Hazel Taylor and husband Carl, Neil Shaney-felt and husband Luel and Ruth Campbell, all of Hartselle; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and best friend of 34 years, Mike Crooks of Ozark.
Pallbearers will be Josh Summerford, Gary Don Summerford, Ricky Owens, Tony Maples, Shane Ellis, Shannon Robbins, Mike Triplett and Stevie McGee.
