Hartselle man wins bronze award at World Championship
OKLAHOMA CITY – James F. Kifer of Hartselle and his American quarter horse, JMK One Cool Bay, captured third place in the Bank of America amateur weanling geldings class at the American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show in Oklahoma City on Nov. 11.
Kifer and his horse competed against 16 other entries for world championship honors .As the bronze winner, he received a prize package that included a custom-designed bronze -tone trophy, medallion, specially designed and logoed Cripple Creek jacket and top-10 patch, WeatherBeeta blanket, Professionals Choice products as well as a cash prize.
JMK One Cool Bay is owned and bred by Kifer and is sired by JMK Supernatural and out of Elusive Woman.
The show is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse owners and exhibitors around the world. Participants must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined amount of points to compete in each of the classes representing English, Western and halter disciplines. More than 3,300 entries from 13 countries competed for more than $2.6 million in cash and prizes.
