Funeral for Hermon T. “Tubby” Segars, 82, of Decatur was Sun., Dec. 5, at 4:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Todd Evans officiating.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Segars died Thur., Dec. 2, 2010, at his residence. He was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Morgan County to Jasper Green Segars and Fanny Bell Johnson Segars. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and served in the Korean War in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. He was retired from Worthington Corp. and Amoco Chemical Company. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jasper Lee Segars.
He is survived by his wife, Ola Mae Davis Segars; two daughters, Sharon G. Allen of McCalla and Sandra D. Russell of Louisville, Ky.; three grandchildren, Lee Hartley of Pell City; Graham Russell and Garrett Truman Russell, both of Louisville, Ky.; and three great-granchildren, Alexander, Jacob and Jeremiah Hartley, all of Pell City.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
