Funeral for Louyn Edward Summerford, 83, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Morgan County, was Wed., Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. in Charlotte, N.C.
Burial was in Charlotte, N.C.
Mr. Summerford died Sat., Dec. 4, 2010, at his residence. He was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Danville to James Jackson Sum-merford and Ella Tanner Summerford. His mother died when he was very young and his second mother, Ruby Morris Summerford raised him. He served in the U.S. Navy and was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Hugh and Ralph Summerford.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Summerford of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Donna Summer-ford of Calif.; two brothers, J.J. Summerford and wife Bobbie of Hartselle and Jack Summerford and wife Barbara of Danville; six sisters, Margaret Campbell of Denver, CO, Stella Brown and husband Glen of Gardendale; Rachel Fowler of Bir-mingham, Nina Johnson and husband Waymon and Willie Monroe and husband Ed, both of Hartselle and Sandra Anglea and husband Jack of Decatur; two sisters-in-law, Orlean Summerford of Hartselle and Jeanette Summerford of Demopolis; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
