Carpenter’s Cabinet helps in time of need

Carpenter’s Cabinet is an emergency food bank serving needy families in the Danville, Eva, Massey, Hartselle and Falkville communities. Chris Waynick is the director and the food bank is located at 35734 Highway 31, South, in Hartselle. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays. And the phone number is 256-612-0747.
Anyone wishing to make donations to the food bank may mail their contribution to Carpenter’s Cabinet, P.O. Box 414, Falkville, AL 35622. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
Anyone wishing to conduct a food drive is invited to contact Waynick. There are currently food drop-off points at Hometown Grocery, Krogers and McClanahan’s Hardware in Hartselle. The deadline for holiday drop-offs is Dec. 22.
A blood drive will be conducted at Shady Grove Baptist Church Sunday, Dec. 19, from 1 to 5 p.m. All support will be greatly appreciated.
Everyone is invited to attend a Christmas cantata “Jesus There’s Something About That Name” at Shady Grove Baptist Church Sunday, Dec. 19, at 10:30 a.m.
A musical entitled “Cookin’ Up Christmas, Where Love Is the Main Ingredient” will be held at 6 p.m. the same day, and a fellowship meal will follow.

Shady Grove Baptist Church Acteens and their leader Betty Boyd enjoyed buying fruit and other items and making 20 fruit baskets, which were delivered to families in the Neel community. Delivering the baskets were Berry Boyd, Jada Callahan and Rachel Terry. Others helping on the project were Sydney Alred, Andrea Carter, Crystal Carter and Shayna Hess.
Special congratulations go out to Ronnie and Tricia O’Kelley on the birth of their granddaughter. Ava Lyneece Mason.
She was born Nov. 30 weighing six pounds and 13 ounces and measuring 19 1/2 inches long.
Her proud parents are Adam and Alison Mason. Her other proud grandparents are Jerry and Sonya Hood.
She is the great-granddaughter of Jerrie and Archie Jordan and the proud aunts are Andrea Carter and Crystal Carter.
Shady Grove Baptist Church youth enjoyed meeting at the home of Steve and Mary Terry on Sunday night to celebrate December birthday honorees in their group.
