Don’t miss your miracle
New Center News
On Sunday afternoon, I sit down and read the Sunday paper.
I usually look at the sales inserts first because I want to check out the sales and check on coupons that are available. I don’t want to miss any of the sales that are coming up. But at this time of the year I’m reminded of some people that missed the birth of Jesus Christ that was over 2,000 years ago in this little town called Bethlehem. The first to miss Christmas was Herod because of fear. He was so consumed with someone trying to take his throne that he had all of the young male children murdered in order to eliminate the one to whom the Magi referred to as the King of the Jews.
The second to miss Christmas was the chief priests and scribes. Herod sought counsel from them but it wasn’t important to them.
Lastly, the third to miss Christmas was the innkeeper. He was so preoccupied with other matters that he couldn’t even provide a room for Joseph and Mary. Therefore, they found shelter in a stable because there was no room for them in the inn.
I know during this Christmas season we all put a lot of time into celebration with our families and friends but do take the time to remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.
