Farmers group earn statewide honors

The Morgan County Farmers Federation Women’s Leadership Committee was recognized during the Alabama Farmers Federation’s 89th annual meeting in Mobile, Dec. 5-6 for collecting the most pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House this year. Sue Nelson of Morgan County received a plaque from Federation State Women’s Leadership Division Director Kim Earwood for the achievement during an awards luncheon. Morgan County collected 375 pounds of the 1,816 pounds of pop tabs collected by the Women’s Leadership Committees statewide this year.  Those collections will nearly pay for a family to stay at the Ronald McDonald House for an entire month.
