Billy Edward Cagle
Funeral for Billy Edward Cagle, 76, of Hartselle was Sat., Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at Danville Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Bailey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Cagle died Wed., Jan. 5, 2011, at his residence. He was born May 23, 1934, in Walker County to John Amon Cagle and Nancy Tildalou Garrett Cagle. He was dearly loved and those who knew him referred to him as “Paw Paw”. He was proud and honored to serve in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1962, and was deployed during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He accepted Christ as his Savior in April of 1973. He served as a faithful deacon for 38 years and was an active member of Danville Baptist Church, an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He was an outstanding father, grandfather, husband and friend and never met a stranger. His love for Christ compelled him to share the gospel with everyone he met and his inner joy was evident to all. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie Maudean Cagle.
He is survived by a son, Billy H. Cagle of Hartselle; two daughters, Cynthia Cagle Wydner and husband John of Danville and Andrea Cagle Boyd and husband Scott of Hartselle; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Cameron Boyd, Connor Boyd, Ben Blankenship, Andrew Cagle, John Cagle and Erik Osborne.
