Joey E. Holmes

Funeral for Joey E. Holmes, 50, of Hartselle was Sun., Jan. 9, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Wayne Penn and Terry Napier officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Holmes died Fri., Jan. 7, 2011, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born February 10, 1960, in Morgan County. He was an electrical salesman for Gresco and was a member of the Falkville Lions Club, Morgan County Cattlemen’s Association and Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served on the building committee and as a trustee. He was a 1978 graduate of Falkville High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett O. Holmes.
He is survived by his wife, Lasanna Tapscott Holmes; a stepson, Thomas Cole Alexander and wife Brittany of Hartselle; his mother, Janie Mae Fitzgerald Holmes of Falkville; three brothers, Allen Holmes and wife Jan of Hartselle, Gerry Holmes and wife Linda of Falkville and Greg Holmes and wife Pam of Massey; two sisters, Linda Alldredge and husband Dwight of Falkville and Debbie Cummings of Decatur, a grandson, Bryant Cole Alexander; and nine nephews and seven nieces.
Pallbearers were Mike Holmes, Rodney Holmes, Jeff Holmes, Chris Wallace, Mickey Wallace, Myron Tapscott and David Holmes.
