Byrd tapped for FSA board

Results are in for this year’s election for a vacant seat on the Morgan County Farm Service Agency Committee.
R. Mark Byrd of Danville was elected to represent local administrative area LAA Number 1 and assumed his committee duties on Jan. 1. Byrd will serve a three-year term.
Adeline Byford came in second in the election, which was held between Nov. 5 and Dec. 6, 2010.  County office employees tabulated election results on Dec. 8.
First and second alternates serve, respectively, in the absence of the elected committee member for a three-year term.  They may also be called upon to fill the unexpired term of the committee member.
Byrd joins Kenneth Anders and Gerry Holmes on the FSA committee. The Morgan County FSA County Committee meetings are held every second Tuesday each month at 8 a.m. at the local FSA office.
