Danville sweeps Elkmont

DANVILLE—Erick Cordova scored 23 points as Danville held off Elkmont 68-60 Monday night at home in a Class 3A, Area 15 matchup.
Cordova was one of four Danville players to score in double figures. Dylan Woods added 16 points and Dillon Childers had 14. Evan Cleghorn chipped in with 10 points in the win.
Danville improved to 9-4 overall and 3-2 in Class 3A, Area 15 play with the win.
Elkmont’s Dan Logan finished with 19 points in the loss.
Danville 80, Elkmont 36
Danville got 19 points and four rebounds from Ashley Nance in a 44-point win over Elkmont.
Elkmont was limited to just 17 points in the first half by the Lady Hawks’ pressure defense.
Kayloni Cross added 14 points for the Lady Hawks, while Kaitlin Wallace finished with 10 points.
Elkmont’s Courtney Phillips finished with 16 points.
