Princess Theatre hosts blues cabaret

The Princess Theatre will host North Alabama’s Classical-Blues Cabaret in a special musical performance Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
Returning to the Princess for a second year, the Cabaret features classical guitarists Phil Weaver of Huntsville and Emily Jones of Decatur, Microwave Dave and the Nukes and pianist Ingrid Von Spakovsky.
With the goal of making classical music accessible to an ever-widening audience, these artists have created an acoustical, cabaret-style concert that reflects the diverse musical skills of the artists.  The Classical-Blues Cabaret began June 17, 2004, as an experimental collaboration between blues guitarist Microwave Dave and classical guitarist Phil Weaver in the form of a cabaret performance at Huntsville’s Flying Monkey Arts Center.
Since then there have been many more packed shows at the Flying Money and a promotional  live concert DVD by the Alabama Film Cooperative.
This season they have performed with pianist Spakovsky and classical guitarist Jones.
Reserved tickets ($16-$9) are available at the Princess Theatre box office.  For more information, call 340-1778 or visit the Princess web site at www.princesstheatre.org.
