Funeral for William H. McGhee, 81, of Hartselle was Thur., Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Redmond officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. McGhee died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born May 22, 1929, in Morgan County to Hubert Hendrix McGhee and Pearl Speakman McGhee. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Hartselle, served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the American Legion, VFW, past president of the Hartselle Jaycees and  an original member of the organizers of Little League Baseball in Hartselle. He was retired from the State of Alabama as a maintenance supervisor. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard David McGhee and John O. Mc-Ghee; and a sister, Margaret Driver.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Sue McGhee; a son, Richard David McGhee and daughter-in-law, Tresa McGhee of Moulton; a daughter, Terry Lynn Mc-Ghee and son-in-law, David Cook Massey of Florence; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jared Messervy, Josh Messervy, Joe Messervy, Jake Messervy, Andrew Messervy and Larry McGhee.
