2011 recycling pickup dates announced
Hartselle’s Public Works Department offers curbside recycling pickup biweekly on Fridays with a few exceptions.The 2011 schedule is listed as follows:
January 28
February 11 and 25
March 11 and 25
April 8 and 22
May 6 and 20
June 10 and 17
July 1, 15 and 29
August 12 and 26
September 16 and 23
October 7 and 21
November 11 and 25
December 2 and 16
Residents are asked to place their recyclables carts by the curb by 6 a.m. on pickup days and provide at least five feet of clearance.
The recycling schedule is posted on www.hartselle.org and copies are available at City Hall.
Acceptable recyclables are newspapers and newspaper inserts, magazines and catalogs, junk mail and envelopes, cardboard, boxboard (cereal, cake and soft drink boxes), office and school paper, aluminum cans, tin and steel cans (rinsed) plastic bottles, plastic milk jugs and phone books.
Non-acceptable items include food waste, food tainted items such as paper plates, paper towels or paper napkins, pizza boxes, egg cartons and ice cream cartons.
