Funeral for Ruby Jewel Humphries Brown, 93, of Battleground will be Wednesday, February 2, at 11 a.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Cullman with Bro. Billy Gable officiating.
Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Mrs. Brown died Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born February 21, 1917, to William Elijah Humphries and Lona Vera Gray Humphries. She was a lifelong resident of the Battleground community and a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be fondly remembered for her love of laughter. Her grandsons, Sam and Charles, always put a twinkle in her eye. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel Patton Brown; a sister, Gladys Hendrix; and two brothers, Rufus and Raymond Humphries.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Brown Buckelew of Hartselle; a son-in-law, Larry Neal Buckelew of Hartselle; three grandchildren, Cynde Buckelew Roberts and husband Randy of Vinemont, Larry Buckelew of Martin, Tenn. and Lamar Buckelew and wife Juliana of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; two great-grandsons, Sam Roberts of Vinemont and Charles Buckelew of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Larry Buckelew, Lamar Buckelew, Randy Roberts, Bill Hendrix, Jerry Hendrix and Willy Hendrix.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Roberts and Charles Buckelew.
