Funeral for Irene Smith Vines, 90, of Hartselle will be Friday, February 4, at 2 p.m. at New Center Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Reeves officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Vines died Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Falkville Healthcare. She was born May 27, 1920, in Morgan County to Arthur Smith and Bertha Callahan Smith. She was a member of New Center Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 50 years. She retired from Goodyear Mill after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse L. Vines; a brother, Ernest Smith; and a sister, Bernice Reeves.
She is survived by a son, Jerry A. Vines and wife Colleen of Hartselle; a daughter, Judith Thompson and husband Jimmy of Decatur; three grandchildren, Brian Vines of Mobile, Jerry Vines Holmes of Decatur and Jill Fenton of Birmingham; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Wayne Nelson, David Nelson, Dolan McCollum, Michael Reeves, Dan Reeves and Steve Reeves.
