2 Somerville men charged in drug bust
Two Somerville men and a Hartselle woman are facing drug charges in connection with a methamphetamine lab bust on Tuesday, February 1
Jeffery Douglas Arnold, 44, of High Street in Somerville and Tracy Leann Tapscott, 33, of Natural Bridge Road in Hartselle were both charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance in the first degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. Brandon Eugene Arnold, 35, of High Street in Somerville was charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance in the second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All three suspects were transferred to the Morgan County Jail under a $5,500 bond.
According to a press release, members of the Decatur Police’s Special Operations Divisions along with the Morgan County Drug Task Force and ABC enforcement conducted a “felony investigation” of alleged illegal drug activity at 401 14th Ave. SE in Decatur on Tuesday.
“As a result of the investigation, agents located a meth lab and three adults were later arrested,” the release stated.
Authorities said the meth lab wasn’t active at the time of the arrests and was confiscated by Decatur Police as evidence.
