Funeral for Charles Edward Ratliff, 78, of Hartselle will be Saturday, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle First Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Ray Young officiating and Reynolds Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Hartselle Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 11, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral service.
Mr. Ratliff died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born April 27, 1932, in Hartselle to Charlie and Velma Wallace Ratliff. He was a 1951 graduate from Morgan County Training School where he played many sports and drove the school bus. He was a member of Hartselle First M.B. Church where he served on the deacon board, adult choir, building committee and the Hartselle Task Force. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Cornelius No. 32 Masonic Lodge and was retired from Wolverine Tube with 24 years of dedicated service. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eloise Parks.
He is survived by his wife, Macie Ratliff of Decatur; four daughters, LaGretta Ratliff, Valeria Crumbough and husband Herbert, Crystal Foster and husband Russell and Melody Harris and husband Brian, all of Decatur; a son, William Ratliff of Nashville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be deacons of Hartselle First M.B. Church.
