Community saddened over death of Mrs. Irene Vines
New Center News
When I think back to when I attended New Center Baptist Church as a young teenager, I’m always reminded of our Sunday school teacher, Mrs. Irene Vines. She was a very dear lady and she always made our class so interesting. Mrs. Vines always brought something special to those in our class as a reward for learning a memory verse or studying their lesson. On Wed., Feb. 2, Mrs. Vines passed away at the age of 90, still a member of New Center Baptist Church and after having taught Sunday school for over 50 years. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to know Mrs. Vines and for the part that she played in my life.
