Wrestling ends season at section

Hartselle High School’s wrestling team won some matches in preliminary rounds but failed to qualify anyone for the state playoffs at the sectional meet at Arab High School last weekend.  To advance, wrestlers had to finish in the top four.
Two wrestlers, Alan Durham and Clint Bender, finished one match away from qualifying, according to head coach Chris Wimberley.
“We made a lot of improvement over last season,” Wimberley said, “and I’m proud of the team.
“However, we’re very young. This was a competition that they can learn from. I think all of them are looking forward to next year and this was something for them to build on.”
