Charles Stephen ‘Steve’ Couey

Funeral for Charles Stephen “Steve” Couey, 60, of Auburn will be Wednesday, February 23, a 6 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel with the Rev. Scott Kaak officiating.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 24, at 4 p.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with Mr. Chuck Howell officiating.
Visitation is Wednesday, February 23, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home and Thursday, February 24, from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Couey died Sunday, February 20, 2011, in East Alabama Medical Center. He was born September 13, 1950, in Birmingham. He had been a resident of Auburn for three years and was employed at GKN Aerospace Industries in Tallassee where he worked as a compliance auditor. He was retired from Wolverine Tube Corporation with 35 years service and served in Vietnam with the U.S. Marines as a communication specialist.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Tate Couey of Auburn; two sons, Senior Chief Petty Officer Steven Couey and wife Nicole of Memphis, Tenn. and Charles Couey and wife Stevie of Opelika; a stepson, Lance Penley of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; four grandchildren, Tianna, Jameson, Susannah and Caroline Couey; a brother, Tony Couey of Hartselle; two sisters, Jill King of Decatur and Cindy Harris of Montgomery.
