Falkville Public Library hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 12 noon and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  The library now has some new books, go by and check them out. For additional information, you can call 256-784-5822.

Computer classes are being conducted at Falkville Public Library for people 55 years old and older.  For more information, phone 256-355-4515 ext. 231.

Oatmeal and Raisin Muffins
2 1/2 cups quick cooking oatmeal
1 egg beaten
2/3 cup water
2/3 cup raisins
Combine all ingredients and stir with a fork just enough to moisten ingredients; spoon into greased muffin tins.  Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes.

Cheese Balls
1 cup biscuit mix
1/4 cup milk
2 Tbsp mayonnaise
1 / 2 cup parsley, nipped fine
1 / 2 cup grated cheese
1 Tbsp grated onion
Dash salt
Blend together biscuit mix, cheese, milk, mayonnaise and salt with a fork.  Shape into balls, combine parsley and onion.  Bake on greased baking sheet for 7-10 minutes at 450 degrees.

Banana Shake
1 cup instant nonfat dry milk
2 cups cold water
3 Tbsp honey
3 ripe bananas, mashed
Stir dry milk into water in a jar with a tight fitting lid.  Stir in honey and bananas. Cover and shake vigorously until well blended.

Berry Floats
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 cup berries of your choice
12 ounces ginger ale
Put a scoop of ice cream in each of two glasses; spoon half of the berries over each.  Fill the glasses with ginger ale, stir gently.
