Funeral for Malcolm Kirby, 75, of Danville will be Sunday Feb. 27, at 1:30 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Salter and the Rev. Forrest Long officiating with burial in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Kirby was born Jan. 2, 1936, in Morgan County to Carl Kirby and Mable Cornelius Kirby. He passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, at his residence.
He was a member of Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Morgan County Cattlemen’s Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mable Kirby; his first wife, Corine Hampton Kirby; and one brother, Sherman Kirby.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Sparkman Kirby of Danville; son, Malcolm (Brenda) Kirby Jr. of Hartselle; daughter, Maxine Borden of Danville; brothers, Kyle (Dorothy) Kirby of Hartselle and Ray Kirby of Danville; sisters, Ruby (J.T.) Story and Shirley (Kenneth) Standridge all of Hartselle; step-children, Glyndon Sparkman and Laura (Ray) Vest all of Hartselle and Lavonda (Shane) Jones of Danville; grandchildren, Amy White, Brian Borden, Kelly Borden and Matt Borden of Danville and Steven Kirby of Hayden; great-grandchildren, Alex Kirby, Ava White, Addison Borden and Kennedy Borden; and seven step-granchildren.
Pallbearers wil be Steven Kirby, Brian Borden, Andy White, Ray Vest, Shane Jones and Glyndon Sparkman. Honorary pallbearer is Matt Borden.
