Falkville falls to Brewer

Brewer’s Lady Patriots scored two runs in the top of the first inning after loading the bases with no one out and went on to overpower Falkville’s Lady Blue Devils 9-4 in a season-opening game on the road last Thursday.
Anna Stephenson got credit for the win. She pitched the distance, allowing four runs on nine hits.
Sarah Smith led the Blue Devils at the plate with a triple, a double and a single. She also scored twice and had an RBI. Paige Mayer added a double and a single, knocked in a run and scored a run. Sarah Goodman contributed a single
Jessie Thompson took the loss. She allowed nine runs, six of which were unearned, on 14 hits while walking two and striking out four.
