Funeral for Mildred M. Bennefield, 73, of Falkville will be Thursday, March 3, at 12:30 p.m. at New Home Baptist Church with the Revs. Dennis Shaddix and Doug Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 2, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bennefield died Monday, February 28, 2011, at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born September 2, 1937, to John Fillmore and Odell Hardin Fillmore. Mrs. Bennefield was a member of Southside Baptist Church of Decatur. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Bennefield; a son, Timmy A. Bennefield; a daughter, Janie Marie Bennefield; and a brother, Leon Fillmore.
She is survived by four sons, Paul R. Bennefield, Joseph R. Bennefield, Walter Ray Bennefield and Riley Wayne Bennefield; two daughters, Betty S. Roy of Falkville and Patsy Sain; two brothers, Wayne Fillmore and John Fillmore; three sisters, Eva Mae Willingham, Jackie Fillmore and Geneva Fillmore; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rance Sain, Johnny Fillmore, Noah Reed, Bobby Wayne Shelton, Michael Bennefield and Thomas Bennefield.
