Hartselle woman faces felony charges in Indiana
A Hartselle woman was arrested by federal marshals last Friday and is being held in Morgan County Jail awaiting extradiction to Indiana where she faces criminal charges.
Taylor Dingus, 19, of 706 East Main Street is charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing death, a class C felony, and inhaling toxic vapors.
The charges stem from an automobile accident that occurred in Michigan City, Ind., on Jan. 4, in which she sustained non-life threatening injuries and a passenger in her car, Brandy Simcox, 18, of New Buffalo, Ind. sustained injuries that led to her death.
A blood sample taken from Dingus at the hospital where she was taken showed the presence of diflouroethane, a chemical found in aerosol cans, and THC, an ingredient in marijuana, according to a police report. .
