Priceville wins tournament to open season
Priceville won its opening season tournament with an 8-6 win over Scottsboro March 3.
Clay Chandler earned the win on the mound. He pitched three innings in relief with no earned runs and seven strikeouts.
Stephen Starkey led the way with a pair of triples, one single and three RBIs. Jarrod Clark also had two doubles and two RBIs. Allen Smithson also collected two singles while Austin Smith had a double with an RBI.
“We were down 6-0 going into the fourth inning,” said coach Shane Hopkins. “Austin Smith hit a double to drive in the tying run in the fifth and Jarrod Clark drove in Stephen Starkey for the go ahead run in the sixth.

Wesley St. John was the only person to score in Priceville’s 8-1 loss to Northridge
He went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in the fifth inning.
Priceville 9, North Jackson 3
Brandon Harding earned the win on the mound collecting eight strikeouts in five innings of work.
Andrew Starkey led the team with a 4-for-4 outing. He also had a home run, a double and 2 RBIs. Ryan Madewell was also 3-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs. Jarrod Clark added two hits including a double and a three-run home run.
Priceville 14, Lee 4
Allen Smithson earned the win in just four innings. He had four strikeouts in the win.
He helped his own cause by going 2-for-2 at the plate.
Ryan Madewell also went 1-for-2 with a three-run homer.
Priceville 13, Madison County 3
Wesley St. John and Stephen Starkey both went 3-for-4 in the victory over Madison County.
Starkey had a pair of doubles while St. John drove in three runs.
Clay Chandler earned the win with six strikeouts in five innings of work.
