Funeral for Mable Tanksley Smith, 82, of Danville will be Friday, March 18, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Pitt officiating.
Burial will be in Center Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Visitation will be Thursday (today), March 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at her residence. She was born April 13, 1928, in Lawrence County to Henry Zadock Tanksley and Molly Bell Higgins Tanksley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Smith; four sons, Paul Jr., Bobby, Billy and Walker; and a grandchild, Tiffany Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky Smith and wife Lenita of Fairborn, Ohio and Steve Smith and wife Michelle of Brookland, Ark.; a daughter, Peggy Smith and wife Ricky of Speake; two brothers, Rosevelt Tanksley of Temple, Ga. and Hershel Tanksley and wife Betty of Lake Wales, Fla.; four sisters, Jewell Armstrong of Bankhead Forest, Eva Harville of Town Creek and Daisy Yeager and Mary Gay and husband Bobby, all of Falkville; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Smith, Shaun Smith, Shane Smith, David Smith, Daryl Armstrong and Dayton Armstrong.
