Hartselle youth charged with making terrorists threats
A 13-year-old Hartselle boy is being held at the Tennessee Valley Detention Center in Tuscumbia pending a hearing on a charge of making terrorist threats.
The boy was arrested March 18 at his residence by the Decatur Violent Crimes Unit after Decatur Police said he allegedly threatened students at Cedar Ridge Middle School in Decatur. He is a former student at the school.
The school was placed on a modified lock down after school officials learned of the threat. School resource officers acted quickly and located the boy at his residence.
He was arrested and transported to Decatur Police Department where he was questioned by detectives and arrested and charged with terrorist threats.
