Military funeral for Thomas Newton “Widetrack” Widner, 67, of Hartselle will be Wednesday, March 23, at 11 a.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Harvel officiating.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Widner died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his residence. He was born March 22, 1943, in Morgan County to Samuel Widner and Bertha Clayton Widner. He served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Franklin Clements; and four sisters, Chandler Clements, Gathel Sue Barnes, Mary Lou Meyers and Elsa Walker.
He is survived by a son, Thomas Newton Widner III and wife Janet of Lacey’s Spring; two daughters, Jamie Fay Widner LaVigne and husband George of Westland, Mich. and Christy Ann Widner Groves and husband Mike of Somerville; two sisters, Julie Wise and husband Jesse of Las Vegas, Nev. and Diane Braer and husband Mark of Glenndale, Ariz.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Clements, Michael Clements Jr., Trent Widner, Tim Widner, Harold Widner, Russell Clements, Steven LaVigne and Keith Clements.
