Hartselle loses a pair to Spain Park
The Hartselle Tigers gave up 23 hits in two losses to the Spain Park Jaguars 15-4, 7-0 March 22.
Spain Park roughed up Hartselle’s pitching as all three pitchers gave up at least three runs in the first game. The Jaguars also hit five home runs in the game.
The Tigers did get seven hits in the game, but they only scored four runs. Zach Letson finished 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Drew Cowan went 3-for-3 with a run. Deacon Aldridge and Todd Gibson were the only other batters to get a hit.
The pitchers did better in the second game, but still gave up seven runs on seven hits including two home runs.
The Tigers also had seven hits on the night, but they couldn’t string the hits together. For the game, Hartselle stranded 13 base runners including leaving the bases loaded twice.
Austin Spangler collected two hits in the loss while Gillespie, Gibson, Chris Brown, Cowan and Will Swann all had hits. Brown also drew three walks.
