Funeral for Audrey “Allene” Jones, 82, of Decatur was Monday, March 28, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Patton and Irvin Himmel officiating.
Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery in Cullman County.
Mrs. Jones died Saturday, March 26, 2011. She was born September 26, 1928, in Cullman County to Fred Holmes and Bessie Lou Holt Holmes. She was a 1948 graduate of Cullman High School and married Roy Jones in 1951. She was a homemaker and a long time member of Somerville Road Church of Christ. She was an amazing mother and friend and will always be remembered for her fabulous desserts. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Aubrey Holmes and Alvie Holmes; and a grandson, Jeffrey Sandor.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Jones of Decatur; a son, Wendell Roy Jones and wife Diana L. of Madison; two daughters, Diane Jones Shelton and husband Steve and Melissa Jones Sandor and husband Mike, all of Hartselle; a brother, David L. Holmes and wife Martha of Florida; a sister, Genevieve Gaines and husband Jack of Madison; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Junior Jones, Patrick Lentz, Jeff Belcher, Tony Ford, Randall Jones and Kaylen Adams.
