Funeral for Hattie Mae Weaver Johnson Burkett, 91, of Hartselle will be Wednesday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jon Laidley officiating.
Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Burkett died Sunday, March 27, 2011, at her residence. She was born May 24, 1919, in Lawrence County to Lige Weaver and Lucy Lassie Brown Weaver. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and she loved to cook. She was a Baptist and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Paul Johnson; and seven brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Sara Elledge of Falkville and Martha Woodall of Hartselle; two step-daughters, Sherri Thomas and Diane Sonderman, both of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Sarah Marie Hughes of Hartselle; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Woodall, James Hughes Jr., James Elledge, Benny Weaver, Zachary Piper and Michael Piper.
