Funeral for James A. Fowler, 89, of Eva was Sunday, March 27, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Lipsey officiating.
Burial was in Mount Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Fowler died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born September 1, 1921, in Morgan County to Dee Estress Fowler and Iva Bell Murphy Fowler. He was a member of Etha Baptist Church and was in the Army and was a World War II veteran. Mr. Fowler was preceded in death by his parents and a son, James R. Fowler.
He is survived by his wife, Lavirne Fowler; a son, Tommy D. Fowler and wife Sue Ann of Eva; three brothers, Johnie Fowler of Athens, Ga., Ray Fowler and Wendell Fowler, both of Columbus, Ga.; two sisters, Vivian Widner and Jean Graham, both of Eva; two grandchildren, Eric and Riply Fowler; and a great-grandchild, Dawson Fowler.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Widner, Jimmie Widner, Frankie Widner, David Fowler, Wayne Fowler and Buddy Jo Fowler.
