Yes, there is a Parent’s Day
New Center news
During the year we observe many holidays or special days such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, our birthday, wedding anniversary, Fourth of July, grandparent’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The other day I was wondering if there is a Parent’s Day. After a little research, I discovered there is a Parent’s Day after all. In 1994, President Bill Clinton signed into law a resolution adopted by Congress to designate the fourth Sunday of July as Parent’s Day. This is a special day set aside for our mothers and fathers for their devotion and the great sacrifices they make to provide a hopeful and promising future for their children. So on this special day in July this year take the time to express your gratitude to your parents for their patience, sacrifices and most of all their love. Exodus 20:12 says, “Honor thy father and thy mother that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.”
