Funeral for Dan Tynan, 63, of Hartselle will be Friday, April 1, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gorden Wilbanks officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, April 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Tynan died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at his residence. He was born July 31, 1947, to James J. Tynan and Ruby L. Eggers Tynan. He was raised in Bartonville and joined the U.S. Army after graduating from Limestone High School. While in the military he played guitar in a band for the officer’s club. During this time he married and was blessed with a son, Christopher, while stationed in Germany. He later moved to Alabama where he was employed for 15 years by Wolverine Tube. He married Wanda Sheppard and they were blessed with two daughters, Sarah and Cassie. Music was ingrained in his soul. He played with various bands for most of his life and enjoyed the camaraderie and deep friendships of his fellow musicians. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Michael Tynan.
A memorial celebration in his honor will be at Sky Harbor Steak House in Peoria, Ill. April 17, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
He is survived by a son, Christopher Buerkett and wife Rebecca; two daughters, Sarah Colleen Tynan and Cassie Loraine Dean and husband Jimmy; a sister, Pattie Blanchard and husband Dave from East Peoria, Ill.; two granddaughters, Autumn and Ayla Buerkett; two nieces, Shelly O’Donnell and husband Doreen and Jacquie Hurd and husband Steve; a nephew, Dane O’Donnell and wife Seana.
