Funeral for Alvin L. Abercrombie, 87, of Hartselle was Tuesday, April 12, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Abercrombie died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born January 31, 1924, in Marion County to Clyde T. Abercrombie and Frances Elizabeth Harris Abercrombie. He was a member of Hartselle First United Methodist Church and was an automobile dealer since 1956. He was a former member of Hartselle Kiwanis, a former Hartselle City Councilman, a former GMC Truck dealer, a former Allis Chalmers Tractor dealer and has been in radio broadcasting from 1985 to the present. He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Hodges and a brother, Calvin Abercrombie.
He is survived by his wife, Earline Abercrombie of Hartselle; two sons, James Ronald Abercrombie and wife Pam of Hartselle and Keith Abercrombie and wife Teresa of Massey; a daughter, Anne Ennis and husband Boyd of Vestavia Hills; a sister, Minnie Farmer of South Gate, Michigan; two grandchildren, Dr. Boyd Ennis Jr. and wife Dr. Joanne Rossman of Birmingham and Jenifer Abercrombie of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Ed Higgins, Doug Moss, Jimmie Jones, Charles Yarbrough and Charles Parker.
