Hughes, Calvert to wed

Mitchell and Linda Hughes of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie Dawn Hughes of Hartselle to Nathan Keith Calvert of Hartselle, son of Pam Calvert of Decatur and Byron Calvert of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Ima Hughes and the late Solon Hughes of Hartselle, the late Coyd Flowers of Falkville, the late Martha Flowers Sparkman of Decatur, and Richard Sparkman of Decatur.
Miss Hughes is a 2004 graduate of Hartselle High School, a 2009 graduate of The University of North Alabama with a bachelor of science degree in Art Education and will graduate in May from The University of Montevallo with a Master of Arts  in Education degree. She is employed by the Hoover City School System as an art teacher.
The future groom is the grandson of Verlon and Martha Moody and Violet Calvert and the late O.V. Calvert, all of Cullman.
Mr. Calvert is a 2005 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2009 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design.
The wedding is planned for June 18, 2011, at 3:00  at First Baptist Church in Hartselle.
