PHS splits games at Ardmore
Priceville’s softball team went 2-1-1 in the Ardmore Tournament this weekend after picking up a win over Brewer Thursday afternoon.
PHS 1, WLHS 1
Priceville’s Danielle Richard scored the only run for the Lady Bulldogs on a solo home run, but an error allowed West Limestone to score an unearned run to tie the game.
The game ended in a tie when time ran out.
Meaghan Bond went the distance pitching five innings allowing just one hit and three walks with five strikeouts.
Mandy Bunnell went 2-for-3 in the game but wasn’t able to score.
PHS 9, CHS 0
Priceville had seven extra base hits to down Cornersville in pool play.
Amber Johnson and Meaghan Bond led the way with 3-for-3 outings. Johnson had two triples and three RBIs while Meaghan Bond had two runs, two RBIs and a double.
Richard and Bunnell went 2-for-3 in the game. Richard had two triples, three runs and three RBIs while Bunnell had two runs, two doubles and an RBI.
Shayna Bond earned the win going four innings and scattering four hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
PHS 3, HFHS 1
Shayna Bond and Richard led the Lady Bulldogs with 2-for-3 hitting in the win over Hume Fogg.
Richard hit a two-run homer to break the 1-1 tie and provide the difference in Priceville’s win.
Shayna Bond went the distance in the circle, finishing with five strikeouts, one run, four hits and one walk. She also scored two runs.
Huntsville 7, PHS 1
Meaghan Bond went five innings, allowed four hits and seven runs, only one of which was earned.
Bunnell gave Priceville its only run on a solo home run. McKenzie Parker also went 2-for-2 and also reached on a walk.
