Robert ‘Bobby’ Hugh Turney

Funeral for Robert “Bobby” Hugh Turney, 81, of Somerville will be Wednesday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at Somerville Church of God with the Revs. Gary Webster and Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Somerville Church of God Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Turney died Sunday, April 10, 2011, at his residence. He was born Monday, February 24, 1930, in Morgan County to Henry Clay Turney and Eddie Sharp Turney. He was retired from Wolverine Tube and was owner of Bobby Turney Bulldozing until his retirement in 2006. He worked in Fairbanks, Alaska on construction in preparation for the Alaska Pipe Line in the 1960s. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha Johnson Turney; and a sister, Jenell Turney McCary.
He is survived by a son, Marty Turney of Somerville; and two sisters, Colleen Lemmond Johnson and husband Loyd and Virginia Turney Howell and husband Joe, all of Hartselle. Pallbearers will be Hugh Turney Lemmond, Barry McCary, James West, Perry Sharp, Joe Howell and Arlo Sharp.
