Tiffin signs with Huntingdon
Hartselle High School senior Will Tiffin has signed a letter of intent to play football for Huntingdon College in Montgomery.
He was recruited as a wide receiver.
Tiffin announced his signing at a reception given in his honor in the school cafeteria on Thursday. About 75 family members, coaches, teammates and other senior athletes were present to offer him their congratulations and best wishes.
An honor student, Tiffin said he would enroll at Huntingdon next August and major in marine biology.
“This has been my dream since I started playing football in the city league,” Tiffin pointed out. “I visited the campus twice, talked with my parents and prayed about it. It’s unbelievable. It’s what’s best for me and my family.”
“He’s been as good a player as we’ve had for the past two years,” said Hartselle head football coach Bob Godsey. “He’s made a lot of big catches for us and, in addition to being a good player, has been a good teammate and a good leader both on and off the field.”
Godsey said Tiffin endeared himself to the coaching staff and his teammates because he worked so hard to overcome his lack of size and become a productive player.
“We’re proud of him and happy to see him get the opportunity to continue playing on the next level,” he added.
Tiffin is the son of Jeff and Kim Tiffin of Hartselle.
