FHS to host Hatton

Falkville’s Blue Devils, winner of Class 2A, Area 15, will host Area 16 runner-up Hatton in a best-two-of-three games series with a doubleheader Friday at 5 p.m. and one game on Saturday at noon if needed.

Coach Jeff Andrews is looking for leadership and production from the six seniors on his squad as the playoffs get underway. His team has compiled a 12-18 overall record and won its area with a 6-2 mark. Area opponents were runner-up Westminster, Tanner and Cleveland.

“Pitching will be a key for us.” Andrews said, “Our lead pitcher has the ability to shut down a team and help us overcome an error or two, but after him there’s a drop-off. We’ll have to play good defense and hit the ball well to stay in the fight.”
