Hartselle under curfew
The City of Hartselle has been placed under a curfew for the duration of the power outage, according to Mayor Dwight Tankersley.
The curfew will be in place from dusk until dawn. Tankersley said he and Police Chief Ron Puckett decided it was in the best interest of the city to issue the curfew.
Tankersley also added that rumors regarding the city water shutting off its water supply are untrue.
“We have plenty of water,” Tankersley said. “We get our water from the City of Decatur. Their water plant is running on a generator. They’re producing more than enough water to handle the demand.”
School has been canceled in Hartselle and Morgan County for Friday. No decision has been made regarding classes next week.
