Funeral for James Paul Spigner, 90, of Hartselle was Monday May 23, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Walter Blackmon and Charles Stone officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Spigner died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born July 20, 1920, in Autauga County to W.W. Spigner and Cora Bell Granger Spigner. He owned and operated J.P. Spigner Shell Service Station in Hartselle for over 30 years and was the oldest charter member of East Highland Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Effie Evelyn Spigner.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred McCaig Spigner; three stepdaughters, Brenda Myers of Gurley, Donna Leonard of Decatur and Tena Segars of Hartselle; a brother, Luther Wayne Spigner of Santa Clara, Calif.; a sister, Betty Joyce Buck of Fredericksburg, Va.; six stepgrandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were members of his Sunday School class.
In lieu of flowers make memorial contributions to East Highland Baptist Church Building Fund.
