Crockett, Watkins marry

Elizabeth Gaines Crockett of Birmingham and Robert Nicholas Watkins of Hartselle were married March 26, 2011, at noon at The Club in Birmingham. Mr. Rick Dykes of the Church of the Highlands officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Crockett of Birmingham. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Moore Lackey of Birmingham, the late Mrs. Audrey Booth Crockett of Birmingham and Mr. Stanley Crockett of Jacksonville, Fla.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Toni Nicholson and Mr. Robert Dean Watkins, both of Hartselle. He is the grandson of Bernice Parker of Decatur and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Fite Watkins of Decatur.
The bride chose a formal gown of ivory handloomed raw Italian silk, featuring a ruched bodice embellished with pearls, sequins, and beading. The tulle sleeves, pleated with pearls, matched her veil. She carried a hand tied bouquet of creamy roses, ranchulus and hydrangeas.
Mrs. Josh Fincher of Odenville served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Audrey Mize of Birmingham and Mrs. Matthew McLean of Mobile. Attendants wore green floor length gowns and carried hand  tied bouquets of creamy roses, hydrangeas and blue stock.
Mr. Dane Burgess, of Hartselle, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Cullen Brown of New Orleans, La., Mr. Lucas Bruner of Hartselle and Mr. Rand Harris of Tuscaloosa.
The Club overlooked the city of Birmingham. Urns on pedestals were filled with creamy roses, lilies, hydrangeas and blue stock.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Music was provided by bagpiper Ryan Morrison, who led the processional. The wedding director was Mrs. Thomas O’Meara, cousin of the bride, of Jacksonville, Fla.
The reception was held at The Club’s Grand Ballroom. A seated luncheon was served. The bride’s cake was a four layer creamy white cake with handmade pulled sugar flowers cascading down the sides. The flowers were blue hydrangeas and creamy calla lilies.
A rehearsal party, hosted by Mrs. Toni Nicholson, the groom’s mother, was held at The Club’s Vulcan Room the evening before the wedding.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Orange Beach and will reside in Northport.
