Funeral for William F. Robinson, 84, of Falkville will be Thursday, June 9, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Napier officiating.
Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Mr. Robinson died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at his residence. He was born March 9, 1927, in Morgan County to Earl Robinson and Nettie Crowe Robinson. He was a veteran of the the U.S. Army and served in WWII. He helped form the Falkville VFW and served as Commander for many years and was VFW All American Commander and Post 10774. He loved dirt track racing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Monzell Robinson; his parents; a daughter, Sue Johnson; a son, Stevie Robinson; a grandson, Wayne Johnson; a sister, Mary Lee Hughes; and a brother, Ellis Robinson.
He is survived by two sons, Bobby Robinson and wife Glenda of Falkville and Billy Robinson and wife Catherine of Decatur; a daughter, Joan Cocke and husband Bobby of Falkville; two brothers, Danny Robinson and wife Margaret of Decatur and Henry Robinson and wife Lynn of Collinsville; a brother-in-law, John Haynes of Camden, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Helen Robinson of Clevland; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Robinson, Johnny Robinson, Jeff Hemming, Michael Cocke, Chad Barbee and Raylon Barnett.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley and give a special thank you to Sonya Robinson, Nikki Robinson and Denise Barnett for their special care.
