Annual Plainview School reunion planned July 23
New Center news
Have children with nothing to do or bored stiff, then let me make a suggestion: find a vacation Bible school at one of our local churches for them to attend. I remember growing up we would always stay a week with our MawMaw and PaPa Maples so we could go to VBS at New Center Baptist Church because at that time we lived in Decatur. We had so much fun and got to spend time with our friends as well.
I have some exciting news to pass along. It’s time for the third Plainview (school-wide) Reunion. It is set for Saturday, July 23, at First United Methodist Church in the Ministry Center. The church is located at the corner of Hickory and Hammitt Streets in Hartselle, one block behind First Station #1. The church has handicap entry and convenient parking, restrooms and tables and chairs. Come early and enjoy the fellowship.
Registration will begin at 3 p.m. The program will start around 5 p.m. with dinner to begin at 6 p.m. Entertainment will follow the meal. The meal this year will be catered by Freight House Restaurant at a cost of $17 per person. This includes everything. Just bring yourself and enjoy. Please make checks payable to Plainview Alumni Association. RSVP by July 20-with name of each person for whom you are paying. This is very important. The committee needs to know how many meals to order. The committee is looking forward to you, your spouse and/or friends making plans to attend. Help spread the word by telling others who attended Plainview School. If you have questions or need directions, please call Kenneth Taylor, 256-773-4276, Levada Lemmond Knox, 256-773-5126, Dianna Atkins Gurley, 256-778-8432 or Doris Anders Jernigan, 256-773-2167. Please remember to bring your photos and stories to share. Dress is casual. See you in July.
